Robin Westmiller

Author of RED WINE FOR BREAKFAST

Robin C. Westmiller decided to become a journalist when she discovered that showing a "Press Pass" gave her access to areas and people that the general public never got a chance to see. However, the road to fame and fortune takes strange turns. During her freshman year at the University of Missouri-Columbia, she fell in love with the college's radio station and she changed majors, schools, and careers. While attending Syracuse University, she worked at several radio stations including WELV in her hometown of Ellenville, New York. Changing her on air name to "Julie Russell" she produced and starred on her own weekend program.

After moving to California, she worked at Radio Shack to pay the rent while she pursued a broadcasting career. There, she met Bill Westmiller and they were married soon after. Over the course of the next five years, Robin and Bill had three daughters, Tandy, Kimberly and Michelle, and Robin put much of her time and energy into her family. Then, in 1985, a tragic accident took the life of her best friend Mary Ellen Grable. In order to work through her grief, Robin combined her skills at writing and her experience in the radio industry to create "Red Wine For Breakfast", a fictional novel about the volatile world of a Los Angeles radio station.

Robin has also written for "The Writers Connection" and "Westlake Magazine" and has been guest columnist in both the Thousand Oaks Star and Out Times section of the Los Angeles Time. She's also a member of the League of American Pen Women and the Newsletter Editor of the Ventura County Writers Club. She has made several appearances on KCLU's "Connections" program.
